In Russia, a communal condominium («коммуналка») is a home using a shared kitchen area and bathtub. A normal arrangement is often a cluster of 5 or so area-apartments with a typical kitchen and rest room and independent front doorways, occupying a floor in a very pre-Revolutionary mansion.
